Evolution Dog Training

β€œI started Evolution Dog Training because I wanted to help dogs and their families develop strong, trusting relationships. After years of working in rescue and volunteering with animal shelters, I realized that many behavior issues stemmed from misunderstandings between dogs and their owners. My goal is to empower dog parents with practical tools and guidance so they can enjoy happier lives with their pets. My team’s passion is to provide high-quality dog training and behavior services using only humane, reward-based, ethical training methods. We take an overall wellness approach to help you and your dogs THRIVE. Always look for science-based, humane and non-aversive trainers. I focus on positive reinforcement and relationship-based training. Each dog is an individual, so I tailor my programs to their specific needs. My approach is all about communication β€” helping dogs understand what we want while respecting their natural behaviors and instincts. It’s important that training is fun for both the dog and the owner!”

Did you know that… Animal Training is Unregulated!

As part of our mission to connect Las Vegas dog parents with the best resources in the community, we recently sat down with Leanne James, the founder of Evolution Dog Training Las Vegas. Leanne's expertise and passion for canine behavior have earned her a stellar reputation among local dog owners. Here's what she had to share about her journey, training philosophy, and tips for dog moms in Vegas.

WHO SHOULD YOU NOT, TAKE BEHAVIOR ADVICE FROM?

Anyone not truly qualified or educated in actual canine behavior and humane training methods.
Working dogs live very different lives. Be careful with Strangers on Social Media or a TV show.

HOW DO I DETERMINE WHAT KIND OF HELP I NEED?

One big mistake I see is inconsistency. Dogs thrive on routine, so when owners change rules or commands frequently, it can create confusion. Another mistake is waiting too long to seek help. I always encourage dog parents to address behavioral concerns early on before they become habits. 3 things to focus on is First, Patience that is key! Training takes time, and each dog learns at their own pace. Second, embrace mental stimulation. In Las Vegas, extreme heat can limit outdoor exercise, so puzzle toys, scent games, and indoor activities can help keep your pup engaged. Lastly, consistency and positive reinforcement go a long way in building trust and good behavior.
